Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team at Adventist Health Bakersfield. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients and residents identified with special needs and/or those who meet nutritional risk criteria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Reassessment: Perform comprehensive initial nutritional assessments and ongoing reassessments of patients' nutritional conditions and stability.
  • Nutritional Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized nutritional plans of care, including patient and family education, interdisciplinary communication, and documentation of all interventions.
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy: Administer medical nutrition therapy in a safe and accurate manner, monitoring and documenting patient responses.
  • Education and Training: Act as an educational resource for healthcare team personnel, including dietetic interns, patients, family members, and community.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise indirect data collection of assigned personnel and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in food and nutrition or equivalent required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Experience as a Clinical Dietitian preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Registered Dietitian (RD) within 6 months of completion of residency program required.
