Qualifications Required

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • Certifications: Must be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants (NCCPA) in addition to Basic Life Support.
  • Experience: Must meet clinical competency requirements as outlined in service-specific credentialing instructions.
  • Board Certification: Certification by the NCCPA is mandatory.
  • Licensure: Must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a comprehensive range of Physician Assistant services in both primary and specialty care, adhering to training and privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Provide care for various medical conditions, including acute and chronic illnesses, and manage emergency situations as needed.
  • Educate and guide other staff members through training sessions and in-service programs.
  • Encourage preventive healthcare practices and promote wellness through patient education.
  • Prescribe medications in line with established treatment protocols.
  • Assess medical issues and determine appropriate interventions, including referrals to physicians when necessary.
  • Conduct specific diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to enhance primary care services.
  • Instruct patients and their families on health maintenance and wellness strategies.
  • Participate in staff meetings for case discussions and ongoing education.
  • Manage patient documentation efficiently, ensuring completion within 72 hours of patient interaction.
