Housing Facility Manager Job Description

The Housing Facility Manager is a key member of the YES House team, responsible for the oversight of the Transitional Housing facility. This role requires a high level of dedication and commitment, as the successful candidate will be required to live on-site in a private unit with weekend, evening, and overnight availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained in the facility, including daily cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of residents, including emergency preparedness and response.
  • Manage and maintain the facility's assets, including equipment, furniture, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with case managers to track work completion and rental credit for tenants.
  • Collect and track rent payments, and assist with weekly apartment checks.
  • Prepare and maintain housing units, including moving furniture, patching drywall, painting, and cleaning.
  • Maintain common areas of all buildings in a presentable manner, including walkways, lobbies, laundry rooms, and outdoor spaces.
  • Responsible for lawn and landscape maintenance in the summer and snow and ice removal in the winter, as well as trash removal year-round.
  • Unlocking and reprogramming of door keys as needed.
  • Maintain schedules for all buildings, equipment, and assets.
  • Follow methods to maintain quality assurance and control costs within budgeted frameworks.
  • Recommend operating improvements for budgets in areas covered by scope of responsibility.
  • Maintain a preventive maintenance program for all equipment and assets.
  • Be available for emergency calls and respond adequately.
  • Complete routine inventory of supplies.
Qualifications
  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid, current, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Ability to live on-site.
  • No pets of any kind permitted.
  • Ability to operate a computer proficiently, including Microsoft Office programs and Building Automated Systems.
  • Experience working with youth aged 18-24 who have experienced homelessness.
  • Ability to maintain a professional, confidential, and supportive relationship with residents and staff.
  • Maintain a safe, tobacco, drug, alcohol, firearms-free living environment.
  • All persons residing in the living unit must pass a background check, including no felony conviction, not having abused or neglected youth or other vulnerable persons, not exploiting others, and not on an abuse or neglect registry.
  • All residents and visitors must be aware of and sign a confidentiality agreement.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Housing Facility Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, or be on their feet for extended periods. Regularly work in adverse conditions, including use of protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials, as well as an office environment. May be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.

Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
