Job Summary

The Box Truck Driver is a key member of our team responsible for ensuring the efficient processing and transportation of materials. This role requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of industrial equipment, including bailers, forklifts, and grinders, to process and load materials for collection and transportation.
  • Drive a Non-CDL Box truck with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) less than 26,001 pounds and under 26ft.
  • Process production scrap, sort materials, and bale cardboard and plastic film.
  • Load finished products onto trailers and ensure safe loading procedures are followed.
  • Ensure proper packaging of food waste and recycling into containers most appropriate for the material and which comply with applicable transport regulations and disposal/recycling site acceptance parameters.
  • Attend all safety trainings, report any incidents or near misses, and wear PPE as needed to ensure workplace safety and compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Create and manage all shipping paperwork (Bill-of-Lading, Packing List, Trailer Checklist, Waste Manifests, etc.).
  • Generate packing lists for each outbound load and document weights for each item loaded onto trailers in order to maintain organization within each order.
  • Communicate any challenges or inquiries to the Operations Supervisor as needed.
  • Utilize workplace experiences to generate and present ideas for program improvement.
  • Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • 0-2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience operating a box truck.
  • A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
  • A valid Driver's license.
  • The ability to lift 30lbs frequently and 65lbs several times a day.
  • The ability to work extended hours (if needed).
  • The physical ability to stand for 8 hours a day.
