Job Opportunity: Portuguese Interpreter

Hanna Interpreting Services LLC is a leading language service provider dedicated to connecting bilingual and multilingual individuals with opportunities to serve as freelance interpreters or translators. Our mission is to bridge the communication gap for those in need through excellent and compassionate language services.

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced bilingual and multilingual individuals to operate as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. As an interpreter, you will play a vital role in supporting language access for individuals with limited English proficiency, making a positive impact on society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality interpreting services in Portuguese and English, ensuring accurate communication and cultural understanding.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, adapting to various work environments and settings.
  • Meet the requirements of our clients, including medical, legal, and educational settings.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and the community.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Portuguese and English, with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.
  • Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.
  • Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.
