We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist's Assistant to join our team at Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical direction and treatment to patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide physical therapy treatments to patients in accordance with a treatment plan established by a physical therapist.
- Administer exercise, massage, heat, light, sound, water, electrical, and infrared treatments as prescribed.
- Instruct and assist patients to learn to improve their ability to walk and move from one location to another.
- Instruct patients in the use and care of assistive equipment and prosthetic devices.
- Observe patients during treatment and report progress to physical therapist.
- Provide clinical direction to physical therapy workers.
- Document treatment provided and patient response to treatment in the medical record.
- Maintain necessary records and statistical reports as required.
- Assist in providing inservice education programs to other hospital personnel.
- Assist in cleaning and maintenance of physical therapy equipment and department.
- May assist with patient transportation.
- Successful completion of a two-year accredited program leading to an associate degree in physical therapy.
- Current Physical Therapist's Assistant licensure in the state where working.
- Minimum of one year experience in a physical therapy department preferred.
