Position Overview:
Bureau Veritas Group is actively seeking a licensed Mechanical Chief Inspector to provide expert oversight for construction project inspections and plan evaluations. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical regulations and the ability to foster strong client relationships while reviewing construction documents such as blueprints and shop drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit outstanding communication and customer service abilities.
- Convey technical information clearly to various stakeholders, including owners, contractors, and municipal clients.
- Address inquiries regarding adherence to mechanical codes.
- Enforce compliance procedures under the guidance of the client's jurisdiction.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to resolve conflicts and issues promptly.
- Engage with client jurisdictions, developers, and engineers to ensure code compliance for ongoing and proposed projects.
- Coordinate with inspection staff across multiple jurisdictions to streamline processes and resolve conflicts.
- Utilize strong oral and written communication skills to prepare necessary documentation.
- Conduct technical inspections and plan reviews for both commercial and residential projects to ensure compliance with mechanical codes.
- Participate in discussions regarding code interpretations as needed.
- Engage in training to enhance technical and interpersonal skills.
- Respond to inquiries from various stakeholders about codes, regulations, and processes.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, and the public.
- Analyze complex issues and make informed decisions in a timely manner.
- Perform plan reviews for residential and commercial projects, ensuring high levels of customer service.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license in mechanical engineering, or a State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) in mechanical.
- State of Florida Inspector License (BN) in mechanical is preferred.
- Alternatively, a Journeyman Mechanical Certificate with ten years of relevant experience may be accepted.
- In-depth knowledge of the Florida Building Code and related construction regulations is essential.
- Ability to interpret codes and assess project proposals for compliance.
- Certification as a Plans Examiner by the Miami Dade or Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) is advantageous.
