Job Title: Toolmaker

East Jordan Plastics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Injection Tool Maker to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain injection molding tools, including hot runner systems, cooling systems, and ejection systems.
  • Troubleshoot thermoforming and injection molding tooling issues.
  • Maintain and repair tooling, including fabricating details and spotting tool.
  • Operate traditional metal fabrication equipment, such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Use CNC equipment for component fabrication.
  • Utilize precision measurement devices to ensure accurate tooling.
  • Understand proper tolerance of components for injection molding and other manufacturing processes.
  • Apply basic lifting and rigging principles and practices.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated tool building, maintenance, and repair experience.
  • Able to read machine prints and determine proper equipment required for fabrication.
  • Strong mechanical mindset and understanding of industrial systems, electrical, and hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with injection molding and/or thermoforming plastics preferred.
  • Ability to work in a scheduled maintenance environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to read, write, and email.
  • Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screen.
