Role Summary: The Nursing Supervisor will oversee and manage a team of medical professionals, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), and Medical Technicians. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality patient care and effective team performance aligned with Care Partners' mission and values. The Nursing Supervisor will provide clinical and administrative support to the leadership team, including staff scheduling, external agency relations, and other essential tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Supervisory Duties:

  • Provide direct supervision, training, and mentorship to the medical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Care Partners' policies and performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Manage performance improvement plans and formal disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Organize and deliver training resources for nursing staff.
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding processes for medical staff.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership regarding staff needs and concerns.
  • Facilitate team meetings to enhance client care and staff development.
  • Assist medical staff in addressing patient medical concerns in collaboration with community partners.

Clinical Oversight:

  • Ensure clinical oversight of nursing services within the scope of practice.
  • Promote trauma-informed and culturally competent care among nursing staff.
  • Review clinical documentation to meet quality management standards.
  • Ensure timely completion of patient assessments, treatment plans, and discharge processes.
  • Take ownership of crisis situations related to service delivery.
  • Facilitate client case conferences as needed.
  • Encourage collaboration among all members of the healthcare team.

Administrative Functions:

  • Ensure treatment plans align with the organization's mission and values.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and collaborators.
  • Ensure compliance with programmatic requirements.
  • Monitor nursing staff adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Consult with leadership regarding client assignments and workload distribution.
  • Ensure timely processing of lab orders and review of results.

Direct Patient Care:

  • Provide direct patient care as needed, including crisis intervention and assessments.
  • Assist in medication management and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Track medication adherence and coordinate pharmacy services.
  • Ensure documentation is completed for all patient interactions.
  • Provide education and support to staff and interns regarding medication management.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse license in California with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • At least 2 years' experience as an RN, preferably in community health.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Experience in managing clients with co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including homeless and LGBTQ individuals.
  • Understanding of Federally Qualified Health Center regulations.
  • Strong foundation in Quality Improvement practices.

Background Clearance:

  • CDCR fingerprint clearance required.
  • Must have no parole or probation history for at least two years.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Culturally competent with the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
