About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing complex multibody vehicle models using Modelica Libraries in Dymola. Your expertise will be crucial in crafting simulation models that will significantly contribute to the success of GM Motorsports programs. A deep understanding of motorsport simulation tools and their practical applications in high-performance racing environments is essential for this role.



Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and maintain accurate and efficient multibody vehicle models using Modelica Libraries in Dymola for various race series

  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to define simulation requirements and validate model results

  • Optimize simulation models for real-time Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) applications

  • Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques in simulation model development

  • Play a key role in the development of GM Motorsports Simulation toolchain



Requirements

To excel in this role, you must have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in motorsport or automotive industry experience in multibody vehicle dynamics simulation. In-depth knowledge of various aspects of vehicle modeling, including suspension kinematics and advanced tire models, is also required.



A strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment are essential for success in this position. Additionally, expertise in developing accurate and numerically efficient complex multibody vehicle models using Modelica Libraries in Dymola and experience optimizing simulation models for real-time DIL simulators are highly desirable.
