SOS Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for promoting a safe environment where risks for infection are identified and minimized for patients, employees, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Administer surveillance programs and report data to identify and mitigate infection risks.
- Analyze data and develop interventions aimed at reducing healthcare-acquired infections in patients and employees.
- Monitor and investigate known or suspected sources of infections to determine the source and ensure control.
- Review sterilization and disinfection techniques and recommend changes as needed.
- Provide related education to staff on infection prevention and control best practices.
- Prepare simple cultures as needed for environmental and individual studies.
- Prepare infection control risk assessments and develop management plans for identified risks.
- Post-secondary degree (e.g. associates' or baccalaureate degree) from an accredited academic facility.
- Prefer at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area and familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Must be a licensed Colorado RN.
- Certified in infection prevention and control or willing to become certified within 6 months of hire or as soon as practical with approval from supervisor.
- Basic computer knowledge, including typing, word processing, Excel, and email.
