Role Overview:


The Senior Analyst in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) will be integral to the bank's second line of defense, focusing on the enhancement of operational risk management initiatives, including controls evaluation, issue oversight, and effective challenge.


The ERM/ORM division is an expanding entity dedicated to delivering expert advice, credible scrutiny, and comprehensive oversight of business operations across the organization.

This team plays a pivotal role in advising bank leadership and the Board of Directors on the risks associated with their decisions, the potential enterprise impacts, and strategies for risk mitigation.

Actively collaborates with business unit leaders and stakeholders to pinpoint and evaluate operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, corporate, and functional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution and refinement of second line of defense Enterprise and Operational Risk Programs, including Controls Evaluation and Issue Oversight.
  • Collaborate with business units to assess existing risks and controls, facilitating controls evaluation to confirm their effectiveness. Clearly communicate findings from evaluations and work together to identify remediation strategies to enhance future effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development of frameworks and standards for first line risk management requirements, serving as a subject matter expert for first line risk representatives.
  • Compile various reports by gathering, analyzing, visualizing, and summarizing source data.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years of relevant experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, or Regulatory Compliance in lieu of educational qualifications.
  • Prior experience in Controls Evaluation and/or Risk and Control Self-Assessments in areas such as information technology, general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial and consumer banking products and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management principles and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to navigate ambiguity and complex situations effectively.
  • Relevant industry and professional experience across one or more of the three lines of defense.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
