About the Role

Fathom, a leading digital manufacturing platform, is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machine centers, programming and editing G-code, and inspecting parts to ensure high-quality manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setup and Operation of CNC Milling Machine Centers: Safely operate and maintain CNC milling machine centers to produce high-quality parts.
  • Programming and Editing G-Code: Use manual data input (MDI) programming and G-code editing to create and edit programs for CNC milling operations.
  • Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of parts using manual gauges and instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Understanding of GD&T and 2D Drawings: Interpret and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles and read 2D drawings to ensure accurate part production.
  • Part Monitoring and Inspection: Continuously monitor and inspect parts throughout the machining process to identify and address any quality issues.
  • Adherence to Safety and Quality Procedures: Follow all company safety and quality procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members to share information and resolve technical issues.
  • Participation in Lean and 6S Manufacturing Events: Participate in lean and 6S manufacturing events to continuously improve manufacturing processes and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in a relevant field or 3+ years of experience in CNC machining.
  • Strong Work Ethic and Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a strong work ethic and high attention to detail to ensure high-quality part production.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to work in a fast-paced team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Communication and Teamwork Skills: Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues.
  • Mazak Conversational Programming and Operation: Familiarity with Mazak conversational programming and operation is a plus.
  • Tooling and Tooling Requirements Knowledge: Have knowledge of tooling and tooling requirements to ensure efficient and effective part production.
  • English Language Proficiency: Possess strong English language skills, including reading and writing.
