Rural Health Group Clinical Assistant Job Description

Rural Health Group, a multi-location Community Health Center in northeastern North Carolina, is seeking a skilled Clinical Assistant to support our clinical team at RHG's clinic at Halifax Regional Medical Center. This full-time position will work Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate patient-centered care and maximize outcomes across the patient care continuum.
  • Monitor patient care to ensure progress toward desired outcomes.
  • Address patient and family needs, resolving obstacles to effective care.
  • Work together with the clinical team to plan for patient treatment and follow-up care.
Requirements:
  • Must be Certified MA or have an active North Carolina LPN or RN license.
  • CNA applicants or MAs who are not yet certified will not be considered.
  • Demonstrate the Rural Health Group Core Competencies, including Good Judgment, Communication/Customer Service/Teamwork, Passion, Honesty, Responsibility, and Job-Specific Skill Set.
  • Preferred clinical skills/experience include Phlebotomy, Equipment usage (EKG, clinitek, Hemoglobin), Good documentation skills, Tracking and maintaining medical data, Immunization (adult and pediatric), Injections, IV therapy, and Strong understanding of disease management for providing patient education at the direction of provider.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Outpatient physician office experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, telephone, and communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work efficiently in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Pleasant, professional approach; must be able to work well with the public and provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective, professional relationships with patients, providers, coworkers, and superiors.
  • Possess knowledge of modern office equipment and Microsoft Office software programs.
  • Basic computer skills; must be able to quickly learn to use eClinicalWorks electronic health record system.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
