Position Overview:
The Accounting Operations team is on the lookout for a Senior Accountant to enhance our Corporate Accounting Services group.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with all organizational levels.


Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations related to payroll and benefits, including HSA, 401K, severance, union dues, employee net pay, and other miscellaneous accruals.
• Collaborate with the Risk Management team to accurately record and reconcile various company-wide insurance transactions.
• Ensure the accuracy of GL coding by reviewing JDE.
• Serve as the primary contact for business partners regarding accounting inquiries.
• Adhere to SOX controls and GAAP to maintain a robust internal control environment.
• Lead special projects aimed at driving continuous process improvements.
• Provide regular updates to management.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations using Blackline.
• Undertake special accounting projects as assigned.
• Assist in audit processes by preparing schedules and liaising with internal and external auditors.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with month-end closing processes.
• A forward-thinking approach to problem-solving.
• Financial expertise applicable in a manufacturing context.
• Ability to build effective teams and support plant initiatives while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Proven ability to set priorities, establish objectives, and effectively schedule activities.
• Familiarity with JD Edwards, Hyperion, and Blackline is preferred.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
