Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Hospitalist to join our team at Allina Health. As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will provide general pediatric care to hospitalized pediatric patients and perform procedures in the inpatient setting. You will serve as the patient's primary physician during patient hospitalization and provide pediatric consultation to the ED and for surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care for pediatric patients in a hospital setting.
- Provide coverage in the normal newborn nursery, including circumcisions.
- Provide family-centered care in a community hospital.
- Review patient's medical history, collect, prioritize, and synthesize comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Provide education, consultation, or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Work collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practice in a thoughtful manner, considering cultural diversity, individual autonomy, and legal responsibilities.
- Provide pediatric consultation for ED and surgical patients.
- Chart in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
- Actively participate in a multidisciplinary approach to case management.
- May participate in on-call rotation.
- May perform procedures such as line placements, ventilator management, and endotracheal intubation.
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
- Accredited Residency training program in Pediatrics required.
- BC/BE for Pediatrics (ABP) required.
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain) required.
- NRP and PALS certification required.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI) required.
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges required.
