Bone Marrow Transplant Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider to join our Bone Marrow Transplant team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to patients and families undergoing bone marrow transplantation.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, addressing their physical, emotional, and psychological needs throughout the transplant process.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Master's degree in Nursing (NP) or Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences (PA).
- Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice (NP) or License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified (PA).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing (NP) or State Board of Medical Examiners (PA).
- 3 years of related working experience.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, and have manual dexterity.
