Compensation: $34 per hour (Weekly pay + Benefits)
Contract Duration: 3 months (Potential for extension or permanent placement)
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM
TCWGlobal is a renowned organization comprising a diverse team of innovators, leaders, and problem solvers. We specialize in developing advanced instruments and reagents for life science research laboratories and healthcare facilities globally, contributing to improved health outcomes.
The Junior Production Chemist will operate under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, collaborating within a team-oriented environment to facilitate daily manufacturing tasks, including but not limited to large-scale buffer preparation, hemolysate production, antigen purification, and various other manufacturing processes such as EIA plate coating, antigen blending, EIA and HPLC in-line testing, conjugation, purification, and lyophilization. The chemist will be tasked with executing assigned process orders by adhering to established procedures promptly. Additionally, maintaining accurate inventory records is essential to support the team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct manufacturing processes to adhere to scheduled timelines for both Off-the-Shelf and Custom Products.
- Utilize laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers, centrifuges, pH meters, and HPLC systems.
- Prepare, analyze, and conduct tests on large-scale buffers and hemolysates, ensuring compliance with high-quality standards and approved procedures.
- Calculate necessary constituents for product formulation; document baseline and in-process results accurately while maintaining good laboratory practices.
- Execute inventory transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Manufacture products in accordance with established written procedures and policies; analyze, compile, and present technical data as required.
- Ensure all pre-production tasks are completed prior to initiating processes (including procedures, equipment checks, and raw material inventory).
- Review and finalize batch records.
- Perform daily housekeeping and other related duties as assigned.
- May involve handling heavy equipment and lifting/moving raw materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Science or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Chemist in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with regulated industries is a plus.
- Prior experience in large-scale bulk manufacturing, EIA plating, ELISA assays, centrifugation, autoclaving, sterilization, and cartridge filtration is preferred.
- Proficient in basic laboratory techniques and equipment operation.
- Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP, for inventory management is preferred.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a federally regulated environment.
- Basic understanding of high-pressure equipment in a manufacturing context.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail in documentation.
