- Conduct skilled investigative work on reported crimes.
- Review police reports and conduct follow-up investigations.
- Interview complainants, witnesses, and suspects to gather evidence.
- Apprehend suspects and execute arrests.
- Secure crime scenes and manage evidence collection.
- Prepare detailed reports and collaborate with prosecutors for court cases.
- Maintain communication with police personnel and the public.
- Ensure compliance with laws and ordinances.
- Supervise and train subordinate officers.
- Manage departmental evidence and ensure proper handling and disposal.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be at least 21 years old and a US Citizen
- No felony convictions
- KLETC Certified
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a Patrol Officer
- Completion of 20 hours of training related to Criminal Investigations
