Job Overview

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities, ensuring seamless collaboration with cardiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare staff. A key responsibility will be preparing patients for procedures, verifying medical information, and maintaining equipment in optimal working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Pre-Procedure Preparation
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and tools are sterilized, functional, and properly set up before procedures begin.
  • Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and consent forms.
  • Assist in patient preparation, setting up monitoring equipment, and ensuring proper positioning for optimal procedure results.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Assisting with Procedures
  • Support cardiologists during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiological studies, and other interventional procedures.
  • Handle sterile instruments, such as catheters, balloons, and stents, during procedures.
  • Operate X-ray fluoroscopy equipment and assist with imaging during diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities to physicians during procedures.
  • Administer medications under physician direction.
Post-Procedure Care
  • Monitor patients for complications after procedures, such as bleeding, changes in vital signs, or signs of infection.
  • Assist in transferring patients from the procedure table to recovery, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Help with patient recovery by monitoring cardiac rhythm, vital signs, and insertion sites for any signs of complications.
  • Provide post-procedure instructions to patients and their families.
Equipment Management and Maintenance
  • Maintain, clean, and sterilize cath lab equipment and instruments.
  • Regularly check and troubleshoot cath lab machinery.
  • Order necessary supplies and manage inventory.
  • Assist in calibrating equipment to ensure accurate diagnostic results.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
