Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our Compounding Lab Operations team at Wedgewood Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our compounded veterinary medications.
Key Responsibilities
- Count and Prepare Medications
- Count non-sterile medications, including capsules, oral liquids, topical medications, nasal preparations, tablets, or treats
- Label prescriptions and prepackage bulk medications
- Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels for re-order of depleting inventory or expiring chemicals
- Receive and process additional inventory
- Cleaning and Sanitation
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning using appropriate disinfectants and techniques
- Quality Control
- Utilize strong attention to detail, math skills, and extreme focus to ensure accuracy and quality
- Meet or exceed metrics for creating prescriptions
- Customer Service
- Help ensure pet owners and veterinarians receive their medications in a timely fashion
Requirements
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Skills
- Strong basic math skills
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 25 lbs
- Certifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician Trainee license through the AZ State Board of Pharmacy
