Assembly and Finishing Technician

As an Assembly and Finishing Technician (also known as a General Laborer), you will engage in repetitive tasks such as bench assembly and part finishing, which includes cleaning, deburring, grinding, and various production operations to manufacture machined metal components.

Key Responsibilities include the following. Additional tasks may be assigned.

  • Bench Assembly:
    • Positions components in specified relationships to one another.
    • Utilizes hand tools to assemble small parts.
  • Part Finishing:
    • Files or rubs parts with a file, wire brush, or buffing cloth.
    • Holds parts against buffing or grinding wheels.
    • Deburrs or polishes components.
    • Cleans interior surfaces of holes.
    • Applies abrasive compounds, wax, or other dressings to aid in cleaning or polishing processes.
  • Will be cross-trained to operate at various workstations in production as required.
  • Regularly utilizes a microscope and a variety of hand tools to assemble and finish machine parts.
  • Adheres to safety protocols as necessary.

Education and/or Experience
