Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a vital role in providing one-to-one behavioral management interventions to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to work effectively with families, schools, and other community settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain contact with treatment team members, including schools, families, and wraparound staff, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services.
  • Implement behavioral management interventions identified in the treatment plan, including providing 1:1 services to children and adolescents.
  • Assist parents, teachers, and other responsible adults in providing direct supervision of children and adolescents.
  • Document all therapeutic interactions, unusual incidents, and routine activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with other programs and departments to ensure continuity of service for designated consumers.
Requirements:
  • Education and/or experience in behavioral health or a related field, including certifications such as BCaBA, RBT, or BCAT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people in varied settings.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of and ability to navigate multiple child-serving systems, including education, juvenile justice, child welfare, mental health, and healthcare.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs and lift 20 pounds.
  • Current valid driver's license and willingness to drive as needed.
  • Requires some flexible work schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
