Position Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Specialist who possesses a solid mechanical background alongside exceptional cleaning capabilities. In this role, you will ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of various areas within the facility, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and production areas. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic, committed to maintaining high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance, which is essential for individual and team effectiveness.
- Accurately enter data into the maintenance management system in a timely manner.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform cleaning duties in offices, lobbies, restrooms, break rooms, locker areas, outdoor spaces, and production floors.
- Responsibilities include waste disposal, restocking supplies, sanitizing surfaces, cleaning windows, dusting, and maintaining floor cleanliness.
- Monitor and maintain proper drainage systems; unclog as necessary.
- Safely handle and utilize cleaning chemicals, adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Manage waste removal from various areas of the facility.
- Conduct floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and reorder as needed.
- Follow the established cleaning schedule and take direction as required.
- Maintain the exterior of the building, including landscaping and snow removal as needed.
- Utilize clean tools and equipment for all cleaning tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 0-1 years of relevant experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills are necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- A valid U.S. driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
- At least one year of experience in a custodial or maintenance role.
- Commitment to safety and the ability to promote a safe working environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to listen and clarify information.
- Strong self-management skills to efficiently complete tasks.
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Organizational skills and basic maintenance knowledge.
- Familiarity with measuring tools and equipment.
- Potential for CPR and first aid training.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and fall protection.
- Experience in plumbing is a plus.
The physical demands of this position require the ability to:
- Stand or sit for extended periods.
- Lift moderate to heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
- Perform various physical activities, including bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Work in varying temperatures and conditions.
- Drive as necessary, maintaining a clean driving record.
