Job Summary

AdventHealth is seeking a skilled Imaging Technologist Assistant to join our team. As an Imaging Technologist Assistant, you will assist technologists and provide support for the imaging department. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Assist technologists in positioning patients for radiology procedures
  • Follow radiation/magnetic field safety procedures and guidelines
  • Assist with room turnover and restocking of supplies
  • Inform patient of their destination and communicate with Monitor techs and Nursing staff when transporting patients
  • Identify patient whereabouts on patient transport logs and communicate with requesting department of any delays and cancellations
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary to effectively treat and care for patients of all ages
  • Ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly before/after each transport
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of PPE
  • Identify safety issues, intervene and notify supervisor
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all infection control standards
  • May transport pharmaceutical waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area
  • Maintain a knowledge and understanding of process improvement initiatives for the department
  • Attend all meetings and seminars as instructed by department director/manager
  • Escorts/transports patients between clinical areas and verifies patient identities, according to policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High School Grad or Equiv 0 years experience
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert
