Recreation Therapist

Job Summary

As a Recreation Therapist at Via Linda Behavioral Hospital, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing activity services for assigned programs. This involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement activity services that promote patient engagement and participation
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to define and implement treatment goals
Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients
Maintain accurate records of patient progress and activity services provided

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Art, Music, or Recreation therapy, Humanities, Social Work or related therapeutic discipline
Minimum of one year of related experience, knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred
Certification or licensure as a CTRS is required
Must have or be able to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
