We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team at Ascension Borgess in Kalamazoo, MI. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Responsibilities- Assist with direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including ordering and stocking unit supplies and locating shared equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and fellow staff members to ensure a positive and respectful environment.
- Prepare case carts, run sterilizers, and gather surgical equipment as needed for specific procedures.
- Maintain anesthesia carts, procure and return non-controlled medications, and demonstrate aseptic technique to assist in preparing for procedures.
- Assist with patient prep and positioning, and maintain cleanliness of Operating Room specialty equipment.
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association within 1 month of hire date.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; a minimum of 6 months experience with direct patient care preferred.
