A position for a Level I Certified Medical Assistant is open at our busy Clinical Contact Center. The primary duty involves managing incoming patient calls to ensure the prompt processing of diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, prescriptions, and other responsibilities as directed by healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to incoming calls from patients requiring general or follow-up care
- Process electronic prescription requests from pharmacies
- Submit patient medication orders to pharmacies as instructed by healthcare providers
- Build positive rapport with patients and callers
- Obtain prior authorization for medications from insurance providers
- Communicate with healthcare providers using the eClinicalWorks system
- Address patient inquiries and gather pertinent information
- Accurately document telephone interactions
- Relay test results to patients while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Direct calls to the appropriate personnel as necessary
- Carry out additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program with current certification/registration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical private practice with knowledge of EMR systems
- Ability to efficiently manage high call volumes
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team
- Willingness to work evening shifts until 7 PM
