As a hospice aide, you will have the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families by providing essential care in the comfort of their homes.

Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:

  • Delivering personal care services to patients
  • Applying safety principles and proper body mechanics in personal and supportive care techniques
  • Planning and preparing nutritious meals, assisting with feeding as required
  • Performing homemaking and environmental services as assigned
  • Observing, reporting, and documenting any changes in patient status
  • Following specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse
  • Assisting patients with prescribed exercises as directed by a nurse or therapist
  • Conducting simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin
  • Completing other duties as assigned

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Current state certification as a nurse assistant
  • CNA experience within the last two years
  • Current CPR certification
