We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Forensic Scientist Trainee to join our team at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about forensic analysis and eager to contribute to the identification of drugs.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a comprehensive training program to enhance knowledge and technical skills in drug identification, report writing, and courtroom testimony.
- Conduct qualitative analyses on evidence submitted for drug testing, utilizing recognized identification methods such as microscopy, spectroscopy, and chromatography.
- Work under the guidance of a technical supervisor to ensure adherence to procedures specified in the PA State Police Bureau of Forensic Services Drug Identification Procedures Manual.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, forensic science, or a closely related physical or natural science, with a minimum of 16 college credits in chemistry.
- Ability to meet the PA residency requirement.
- Pass criminal history and background investigations.
