Position Summary
The Logistics Operations Supervisor will oversee warehouse activities to ensure optimal service levels are maintained, adhering to established standards of time, cost, and quality. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with operational procedures, health and safety regulations, and quality benchmarks while enhancing operational efficiency and managing personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the achievement of warehouse operational goals by providing insights and recommendations for strategic planning and reviews. Develop and implement action plans to enhance production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards. Identify and resolve issues, conduct audits, and analyze trends.
- Monitor departmental service levels daily to ensure targets are met.
- Manage departmental expenditures in accordance with budgetary constraints and cost-per-unit targets.
- Ensure complete compliance with quality standards, standard operating procedures, and audit requirements.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance operational practices.
- Lead by example, prioritizing safety in all activities. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing safety standards and procedures in compliance with legal regulations.
- Direct and optimize workforce management to meet operational goals while motivating staff to tackle future business challenges. Assist in recruiting, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and managing employee performance.
- Plan for succession by identifying local talent for key roles within the department.
- Create and manage a weekly production schedule, collaborating with other department managers to ensure resource availability for inter-departmental objectives.
- Engage regularly with outbound management staff to foster collaboration and communication across all departments and shifts.
- Optimize space utilization within the outbound warehouse and coordinate with other departments for effective capacity planning.
- Enhance job knowledge through continuous education, professional networking, and participation in industry organizations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-8 years of management experience in a warehouse setting.
- An associate degree in business operations is beneficial; a bachelor's degree in business or logistics is preferred.
