The primary objective of the Certified Nursing Assistant role is to deliver routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents in alignment with their individualized care plans.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will engage in various essential duties within a nursing home environment, which may encompass, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

- Committed to providing exceptional customer service.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

Deliver personal care to residents in a manner that ensures their safety and comfort, adhering to facility policies and state/federal regulations.

Strive to respect resident preferences and choices in all aspects of care.
- Identify and rectify safety hazards in patient care areas, taking personal responsibility for all patient safety aspects.
- Follow established policies, practices, and standards for nursing services.
- Encourage and support residents' independence to the greatest extent possible.
- Communicate residents' status to the charge nurse at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Document observations and contribute insights regarding residents' conditions as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Adhere to procedures for safe lifting and transferring of residents as per established guidelines.
- Ensure that equipment is clean and operational, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.

Perform incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks as necessary to uphold a clean and hazard-free environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Utilize personal protective equipment as required when performing personal care tasks.
- Conduct regular rounds on the assigned unit to ensure the environment is tidy, odor-free, and orderly, making corrections as needed. This includes resident rooms, hallways, public restrooms, shower rooms, dining areas, and other common spaces.
- Complete daily documentation as required, including restorative programming and computerized records.
- Implement restorative programs as directed.
- Be knowledgeable about the abuse prevention policy and understand the responsibility to enforce it.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- State certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- No disqualifying criminal offenses as defined by regulatory guidelines.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
- Participate in in-service and educational programs.
- Complete required Relias in-services on time.
- Fulfill 12 hours of in-service training annually to maintain certification.
- Keep CPR certification current.
