Role Summary:
The Fiber Optic Splicing Specialist plays a crucial role in the installation and upkeep of fiber optic cabling systems. This position involves providing technical expertise in the design and testing of fiber optics, as well as maintaining existing laser and optical fiber technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain fiber optic systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Inspect and replace outdated or faulty fiber optic cables, while organizing routine maintenance schedules.
- Conduct fiber splicing and troubleshoot problematic areas within the fiber optic network.
- Develop sensor indicators and perform regular inspections to prevent system failures.
- Manage premises cabling and oversee underground and underwater installation tasks.
- Monitor signal strength for devices like televisions and telephones to guarantee performance standards.
- Document and maintain system records and designs.
- Assemble equipment according to technical specifications.
- Prepare and splice fiber lines as required.
- Perform basic maintenance on company vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Maintain inventory on vehicles based on assigned tasks.
- Install and repair fiber lines in various environments using hand tools.
- Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
- Complete paperwork to track daily production and accurately document work performed.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in fiber optics or a related role.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Preferred certifications: CFOT, CPCT, or CFOS.
- OSHA or CPR certification is a plus.
Additional Information:
- This role may require on-call duties and response to emergency situations outside of regular hours.
- Travel to various locations may be necessary.
- Work will be conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings.
