Behavioral Health and Addiction treatment facility in Southeastern Pennsylvania has immediate needs for Behavioral Health travel nurses. Three 12-hour day shifts per week with a 36-hour weekly guarantee. Candidates will need at least 1 year of experience in a similar acute setting, BLS, CPI and a PA license. Please note that COVID vaccination is required, and boosters are also mandatory. Medical exemptions are allowed for severe reactions, which must be documented by a doctor and submitted to the facility for approval.
Job Duties- Admissions (no admissions overnight)
- Med pass (patients come to the desk)
- Assessments
- Leading groups mainly medication education
Meals are delivered to patients by techs. RNs can assist. Experience or 'Must have' skills include strong communication skills with multidisciplinary teams, physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and addictions counselors. Comfort with rehab patients walking the campus is also required. The facility is very low violence, and patients must comply with rules or they are removed from the facility.
Facility Information- Acute Unit 1: locked, 55 and older, coed unit, Depression, personality disorders, Schizophrenia. Medically cleared. Average stay 10-14 days.
- Acute Unit 2: Locked, Coed, addiction and psych, medically cleared, 72 hour holds, some of these are jail or here patients for detox day average stay.
- Detox Unit 1: Medical assisted treatments, must be comfortable giving suboxone and methadone. Less comorbidities. Average stay 5-7 days.
- Detox Unit 2: Medical assisted treatments, must be comfortable giving suboxone and methadone. More medical comorbidities. Minimal medical needs like Diabetics, basic wound care, Cpap at night. Average stay 5-7 days.
The facility has a Charge Nurse 24/7 and a Nursing supervisor 24/7, who covers the entire campus. They also have a code white crisis team available. The facility uses physical restraints if needed, and they have a restraint team that does restraint competencies during orientation and classroom sign-off.
Shifts & Scheduling- 8 or 12 hours shifts
- 12 hours shifts: 6:45-7:15, 8 hours shifts: 6:45, 2:45, and 10:45 starts
- Every other weekend
- Rotate in with perm staff
