Endowed Chair in Risk Engineering and System Analytics

We are seeking a distinguished academic leader to fill the Bob Benmosche Endowed Professorship in Risk Engineering and System Analytics at Clemson University. The successful candidate will be a senior associate or full professor with a proven track record of scholarly work, research funding, and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct interdisciplinary research efforts in risk-related engineering to improve the understanding of risks linked to natural and man-made phenomena, mitigate their effects, and better prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
- Develop and lead research initiatives that promote collaboration within the Department and School, between regional/national industry partners, and a broad set of stakeholders, including federal and state agencies.
- Teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and contribute to the development of curricula and programs in risk engineering and system analytics.
- Engage in service activities that support the growth and development of the Department, School, and University, including committee work, outreach, and community engagement.
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Exemplary record of scholarship, research funding, and student outcomes.
- Research vision that promotes collaboration with the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, its regional/national industry partners, and a broad set of stakeholders.
- Commitment to addressing societal grand challenges and conducting interdisciplinary research efforts in risk-related engineering.
