Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Department of Treasury in Washington DC as they build out security capabilities. This position will start out on-site in Washington DC, with the opportunity to work in a hybrid setting from home 2/3 times per week once the candidate is up to speed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive information security plans and policies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.
  • Design and implement strategies to respond to, recover from, and investigate security breaches, minimizing downtime and data loss.
  • Develop and implement open-source/third-party tools to assist in detection, prevention, and analysis of security threats, enhancing the organization's security posture.
  • Install, configure, and update firewalls, data encryption, and other security products to ensure a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular network scans to identify and remediate vulnerabilities, ensuring the security and integrity of the network.
  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches through the use of software that detects intrusions and anomalous system behavior, providing real-time threat intelligence.
  • Penetration testing experience with Burp Suite and threat hunting experience with UBA are highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity.
  • Experience with Splunk, penetration testing, and firewalls (Palo Alto) is highly desirable.
  • Able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

Benefits:

  • $90,000 - $112,000 per year, depending on experience.
