Job Summary

The Mechanical Detailer is responsible for creating detailed drawings for mechanical designs of varying complexity. This role requires close collaboration with the Mechanical Designer and other engineering support personnel to ensure timely completion of projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete mechanical detailing of transformers, including internal and external components and accessories, based on documentation provided in project design folders, standard practices, and/or from technical advisors.
  • Provide technical support and training to colleagues.
  • Assist the supervisor as needed to ensure that detailing is complete by the due dates.
  • Direct or execute corrective action when shop problems are encountered, consulting with shop and QA personnel on interferences or interpretation of engineering information.
  • Assist on development projects as requested by the supervisor, including completion of standard processes or practices.
  • Recommend and develop new procedures to improve the efficiency of the detailing process.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Drafting and Design or related field.
  • Knowledge and use of Pro Engineer and Microsoft suite programs.
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of shop methods, industry standards, and drafting procedures is preferred.
