About the Role

As a Surgical Technologist at Riverside Health System, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. You will work closely with our surgical team to prepare and maintain equipment, instrumentation, and supplies on the sterile field. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be essential in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Anticipate and prepare for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Monitor and maintain aseptic environments during procedures, adhering to AORN standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives, identifying and reporting any concerns or noncompliance.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, ensuring that all necessary information is shared and understood.
  • Assist with the handling and management of specimens and surgical counts, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Program Graduate, Surgical Technology (Preferred)
  • 1 year Experience in surgical tech (Preferred)
  • Surgical Technologist - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Licensed as Surgical Technologist with State of Virginia Upon Hire (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 90 Days (Required)
  • Certified Surgical Tech (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Upon Hire (Required) or Tech in Surgery - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Upon Hire (Required)
