Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at PSG Global Solutions Careers. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to help diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using Acuson S2000 equipment
  • Locate and image internal elements of the body, including blood vessels and organs
  • Identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions
  • Provide a wide range of highly technical diagnostic exams, including breast, abdominal, small parts, and OB/GYN
  • Ensure patient safety and monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and/or emotional changes
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy
  • Review patient case studies with peers and physicians
  • Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested
  • Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers
  • Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation
  • Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and adjust equipment or request system repair
  • Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures
  • Comply with Siemens, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure
  • Maintain technical competency through continued education
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Abide by all HIPAA standards for patient privacy
  • Abide by all OSHA standards for safety regulations
Requirements:
  • Ultrasound background with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience required
  • Acuson S2000 experience preferred
  • Valid ARDMS license
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional, and ethical manner
  • Flexibility, reliability, and sound judgment and initiative
  • RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) or RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or eligible for registry from ARDMS or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
