Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team as an Account Manager/Large Ag Sales representative. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for representing Midwest Machinery in the sale of agricultural, compact construction, and turf equipment, as well as aftermarket solutions to new and existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the company for the sale of machinery to a defined customer base
  • Proactively grow customer base in assigned territory and follow up on potential leads
  • Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the dealership
  • Monitor competitive activity/products and timely communicate it accordingly
  • Maintain all customer information in assigned territory
  • Achieve sales goals as determined by the company
  • Maintain assigned company vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct product field demonstrations
  • Monitor trends in customers sales and aftermarket business activities and timely communicate to sales manager
  • Maintain current knowledge of financing/warranty/service options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods
  • Attend applicable sales training events/seminars
  • Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes
  • Assist other sales/service/parts staff in identifying potential customers and completing sales
  • Interact in a positive and respectful manner with customers and fellow employees
  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED; associate or bachelor's degree in business or marketing preferred
  • 1+ years sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of agricultural or turf equipment and farming or operational practices required
  • BASIC business knowledge and math skills
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Excellent customer relationship and negotiating skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
  • Ability to use a forklift/skid loader preferred
Working Conditions
  • Frequent bending and stooping
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Climbing/using ladders
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record required
