We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Specialist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.
About the Role:This is a full-time position that requires working 40 hours per week on an 8-hour day shift. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Medical Technologist and be registered or registry eligible with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS) within 12 months of hire.
The Laboratory Specialist will perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard laboratory formulas and procedures. They will analyze test results, prepare samples for testing, calculate test findings, and maintain records.
Responsibilities:- Process and test various types of laboratory specimens
- Review and report lab results
- Perform operational duties, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Act as a resource to other laboratory personnel
- Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent
- Prefer 6 months to 1 year of medical laboratory technologist experience in an acute care facility
- Required: Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS)
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, employee assistance programs, life insurance, and a discount program.
