Position Overview:

Adena- Ironworker/ Steel Erection

Summary:

The Ironworker is responsible for the assembly and installation of structural and miscellaneous steel components. This role includes welding and performing limited millwright tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload, organize, and prepare steel materials for installation.
  • Erect steel columns, beams, and bar joists with precision.
  • Install materials efficiently while adhering to job-specific tolerances.
  • Weld and/or bolt connections according to detailed specifications.
  • Install roof and floor edge angles and bent plates.
  • Handle miscellaneous structural steel installations including braces, support channels, and hangers.
  • Lay out and install roof and floor framing systems.
  • Weld moment connections as required.
  • Align and bolt structural steel members for permanent installation.
  • Install bridging in bar joists.
  • Set and secure metal roof and floor decking.
  • Assemble and install precast concrete components.
  • Construct steel stair stringers, metal pans, guardrails, and handrails.
  • Build amusement ride catwalks and handrails.
  • Install ladders, railings, grating, and other miscellaneous steel structures.
  • Implement cable rail fall protection systems.
  • Provide clear signaling to equipment operators during operations.
  • Cut and weld steel using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Adena- Ironworker/ Steel Erection

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in rigging is essential.
  • Mechanical aptitude for millwright functions is necessary.
  • Combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
  • 10 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain it within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Ability to work at heights without fear.
  • Capability to perform in various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites, including potential overnight stays.
  • Dependable attendance and consistency are required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency in reading specifications and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
