Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.

About the Role

This is a full-time position working days with a pro-rata status of 0.9. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care activities and procedures under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality care to patients as delegated by the Clinical Nurse and according to hospital policy and procedure.
  • Assist with procedures as determined by hospital policy and procedure, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe patient and unit environment.
  • Provide optimum assistance to the medical and nursing staff by providing/patient with activities of daily living and daily assignments.
  • Assist in orientation of new Nursing Assistants.
  • Provide courteous and prompt response to patient requests.
  • May be required to cover the house.
  • Assist with unit maintenance related to ordering and receiving supplies, medications, manuals, and equipment.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent relevant work experience).
  • Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
