Position Summary:
- The Holiday Lighting Installation Technician is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the installation of festive lights and decorations, as well as managing a small team of installation personnel. This position demands a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols. It is a temporary seasonal role that requires high productivity levels.
Job Type: Temporary Full-Time (Seasonal)
Compensation Structure:
- First-year installers can expect to earn between $16,000 and $25,000 during the installation season, while those with more experience may earn between $40,000 and $60,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the installation and removal of holiday lighting and decorations, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Maintain and manage installation tools and equipment at job sites, ensuring no materials are left behind.
- Collaborate with the Field Operations Manager to align goals with the company's vision and participate in daily training sessions.
- Utilize ladders and aerial equipment to install lighting and decorations safely.
- Identify and resolve power issues related to lighting installations.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting from the field to optimize labor efficiency during peak season.
- Communicate effectively with clients and input job data using the company's management software.
- Perform low voltage electrical work; no prior experience required.
Required Skills:
- Experience in various installation categories, including decor and general lighting.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and conflict resolution capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Completion of at least one full season at Holiday Light Co or similar experience.
- Proven leadership skills in managing a team.
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends.
- Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with holiday lighting installations and aerial equipment.
- Familiarity with tree climbing techniques.
- Basic understanding of electrical terminology.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
Work Environment:
- This role involves working outdoors for extended periods, often at heights. The technician will interact with customers and provide respectful service while on-site. Punctuality and the ability to load equipment and review daily itineraries are essential.
