Primary Objective of the Role:

Therapeutic Interventions:
  • Administers medications according to clinical guidelines, identifies abnormal reactions to medication therapy, and reports findings.
  • Implements care plans to address patient needs and diagnoses.
  • Collaborates with the team to align clinical observations with therapeutic treatment plans.
  • Participates in selecting appropriate equipment, devices, and supplies based on patient requirements and treatment plans.
Crisis Management:
  • Recognizes critical changes in patient conditions and takes appropriate actions.
  • Ensures the proper functioning of emergency equipment, identifies deficiencies, and follows up accordingly.
  • Assists in addressing unit needs during crisis situations.
  • Contributes to the restoration of unit operations following a crisis.
  • Engages in reviewing unit responses to crisis situations.

  • Identifies barriers to learning and participates in implementing discharge plans based on patient and family needs.
  • Incorporates cultural considerations of illness and hospitalization into daily patient care.
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
  • Reduces anxiety and apprehension through individualized interventions to ensure patient comfort and dignity.
  • Acts as a patient and family advocate, seeking guidance as needed to provide safe, effective, efficient, and timely care.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current LVN licensure in the State of Texas.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Licensed as an LVN in the State of Texas.
  • BLS certification required prior to hire.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
