The Certified Nurse Midwife will be responsible for evaluating and treating low to moderate risk obstetrical patients, performing physical examinations, and collaborating with medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care. This role involves working in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral.

The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree from a nurse midwifery program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and 2+ years of experience as a CNM. They must also be able to obtain current unrestricted licensure to practice in the State of New Mexico as a CNM.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Evaluates and treats low to moderate risk obstetrical patients for antepartum, labor, and postpartum care.
  • Triages patients to appropriate level of care when outside of the CNMs scope of practice; includes ambulatory clinic encounters, hospital setting, and via phone.
  • Evaluates patients for labor; admits to the hospital and manages labors of low to moderate risk patients.
  • Work in collaboration with PMG physicians, OB hospitalists, and Maternal Fetal Medicine.

**Qualifications:**

  • Masters Degree from a nurse midwifery program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).
  • 2+ years of experience as a CNM preferred.
  • Current unrestricted licensure to practice in the State of New Mexico as a CNM.
