Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist to become an integral part of our GIS Group. This role involves utilizing advanced techniques in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to conduct thorough analyses, employing GIS application software, and engaging in map design and production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead FEMA project initiatives, encompassing data collection, quality assurance and control, map creation, and user training on GIS software.
- Provide mentorship and leadership within project teams.
- Conduct research, analysis, and documentation for various GIS projects.
- Design and develop quality control measures for databases tailored to client specifications.
- Create detailed maps using AutoCAD or other GIS-related software.
- Contribute to the establishment of company-wide GIS standards and provide expert input on GIS-related matters.
- Maintain and support existing GIS systems.
- Stay updated on evolving technologies in both hardware and software within the GIS domain.
- Train and supervise GIS Interns, ensuring quality output.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience related to FEMA programs is essential.
- Proficient understanding of GIS concepts, analytics, data visualization, automation, and solution development is required.
- Experience with AutoCAD and GIS software is necessary.
- Ability to produce accurate maps that effectively convey their intended message.
- Strong analytical skills to collect and interpret information into integrated computer maps.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is mandatory.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.
Working Conditions:
This position may involve prolonged periods of sedentary work, client interaction, and occasional travel.
