Job Summary

The primary responsibility is to service and maintain all Ground Service Equipment at this Swissport location, ensuring that all equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with local and regulatory standards.

The anticipated pay range is $21-$38 per hour. Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive suite of health and wellness benefits, including a 401(k) with company matching, paid vacation, sick leave, and company-observed holidays.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operate and maneuver all types of equipment, both motorized and non-motorized.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules on all ground support equipment.
  • Respond to after-hours maintenance requests for ground support equipment as deemed necessary by the GSE Manager.
  • Provide troubleshooting and diagnostic evaluations of ground support equipment as required.
  • Modify and overhaul power plants, drive-trains, brake systems, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Prepare and paint ground support equipment to meet Swissport standards as needed.
  • Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service and ensure it is not returned until properly diagnosed and repaired.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and incidents involving ground support equipment.
  • Procure parts and materials necessary for maintenance and repair of ground support equipment.
  • Utilize and maintain tools and diagnostic equipment essential for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Complete all maintenance and repair documentation in accordance with carrier, station, airport authority, municipal, state, federal, and Swissport requirements.
  • Adhere to all federal, provincial, municipal, airport authority, and carrier security protocols.
  • Maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license for both airside and non-airside operations in good standing at all times.
  • Follow all safety regulations established by WCB, EPA, WHIMIS, and Swissport management.
  • Keep the GSE shop and its equipment clean and operational, reporting any deficiencies to management.
  • Fuel equipment as necessary, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Engage professionally with Ramp management, customers, and staff as required.

Your Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certification in one of the following trades: Heavy Duty/Commercial or Automotive Mechanic License, maintained in good standing.
  • Familiarity with computer maintenance programs, such as Maximo and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for training or to assist other Swissport locations with GSE requirements.
