Culinary Specialist at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation

As a Culinary Specialist at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation, you will be responsible for providing nutritional meals to residents, staff, and visitors. This involves working closely with the facility dietitian to ensure meals meet the nutritional needs of the residents, making changes to meal plans as necessary with approval from the Dietary Manager.
Key responsibilities include ensuring food supplies are appropriate, placing orders when necessary, and overseeing the food tray line to ensure trays are prepared according to diet cards in an efficient manner to meet scheduled meal and snack times.
You will also provide supervision to dietary aides as directed, assure that established sanitation policies and procedures are always followed, and follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents, interacting with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect, and promotes a caring environment.
Effective communication and interaction with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors are essential for this role.
