Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing and Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facilities, ensuring that they are safe and functional for our employees and inmates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff to ensure that facilities are maintained and repaired in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inspect facilities to identify maintenance needs and develop plans to address them.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent.
  • Six years of full-time, wage-earning plumbing, pipefitting, or pipe welding experience.
  • Plumbing license from the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners preferred.
  • Experience in the supervision of offenders preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers (BPAT) license and Customer Services Inspectors (CSI) license within 24 months of employment date.
